Sisters' Family-Friendly Fiesta Set for Sunday, Sept. 16

  • Fir Street Park 150 N Fir St Sisters, OR, 97759 United States (map)

Citizens4Community, in collaboration with the Sisters Latino community, will present Sister's first community-wide Fiesta de Independencia on Sunday, Sept. 16. The event recognizes Mexican Independence Day and offers all of Sisters Country a fun opportunity to gather and make new friends against a backdrop of wonderful food, lively music and beautiful folkloric dancing.

The fiesta runs 3-7 p.m. in Fir Street Park, just north of Cascade Ave., in Sisters. During the event, E. Main Avenue will be closed between Fir and Spruce streets. Three different food carts are set to be on hand to offer attendees a variety of Mexican dishes for purchase. Or you are welcome to bring your own food, lawn chairs or a blanket, and enjoy a relaxing Sisters Sunday afternoon.

Admission is free; and there will be drawings for free door prizes--donated by local businesses--held throughout the event.

Also, we're excited to announce the fiesta will feature entertainment by the acclaimed band Mariachi Los Temerosos and the folkloric dancing group Folklore Luna.
