Where Does Freedom of Speech Begin and Civility End?

  • Sisters Fire Hall, Community Room 301 S. Elm St. Sisters, OR 97759 (map)

Join us on Thursday, Oct. 24 for a lively and informative panel presentation and group discussion about the significance of freedom of speech in a democratic society.

The event runs 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Sisters Fire Hall, 301 S. Elm St. and is presented by Citizens4Community and the Nugget. Thank you also to The Lodge in Sisters for supporting this opportunity for the community.

You’ll hear a journalist, attorney, pastor, educator and private business owner address topics including: What is the history of the First Amendment? How do Oregon laws define and ensure Freedom of Speech? How do churches, universities and bookstores navigate the sometimes murky waters of legal rights for speech?

We’ll be updating you with more information as this event nears. In the meantime, please “save the date” and we look forward to seeing you on Oct. 24th!
