Come meet The Hub’s newest Artists in Residence!
It’s a new year, and we have new art on display at The Hub! Join us this Friday, January 9 from 4-6 PM for a free, casual meet-and-greet with our new artists:
Juliana Madrone, a Sisters-based artist, musician, and writer, presenting a “modern take on expressionism.”
The students of Sisters High School’s AP Art & Design Class, showcasing their mid-year portfolios.
Enjoy complimentary appetizers and drinks (including wine and beer) while viewing the works of these talented local artists. We’ll also have kid-friendly crafts and an opportunity for everyone to contribute to our “Wishes For A New Year” community art wall!
About the Artists:
Juliana Madrone
With a modern take on Expressionism, I seek to communicate lived sensation over real perception, though without entirely losing a grounding in reality. With the sensory richness of color that oil paints can carry, and their forgiving pliability in the drawn-out drying process, I experiment with what I've observed in nature. These paintings invite viewers into a world where emotion, atmosphere, and texture converge. It’s about evoking what’s felt but often unseen through the emotional power of color, transcending the boundaries of realism and verging into abstraction.

Sisters High School AP Art & Design Students
Sisters High School's AP Art & Design portfolio involves students creating a year-long body of work, focusing on their personal artistic voice, technical skills, and conceptual ideas. Each student chooses an inquiry question as the premise for their project, and pursues a detailed investigative cycle through research, experimentation, creation, revision, reflection, and finally display. The following students are excited to showcase what they have studied and created so far in the 2025-2026 school year:

Hailey Handley
