Each year, C4C commits funding to support community-led initiatives aligned with the Sisters Country Vision.
The Vision is a "guiding light" for our community – developed through a community-wide process and overseen by a team of local agencies, organizations, and individuals committed to a better future for Sisters Country. It lays out goals and aspirations for a more Prosperous, Livable, Resilient, and Connected community.
True to their name, C4C's Momentum Grants are designed to build grassroots momentum aligned with the Vision’s core focus areas. We are particularly interested in supporting projects that:
Are early-stage but show potential for bigger, longer-term impact
Incorporate new voices into community building work
Demonstrate collaboration with fellow community builders
We are now accepting applications for our 2026 Momentum Grants!
This year’s program is bigger than ever – we’re issuing up to $15,000 in grants, and eliminating our maximum award amount.
Grant eligibility and application guidelines are below. Please read them in full before applying. If you have questions, contact Kellen Klein, C4C Executive Director – director@citizens4community.com.
Grant applications are due by 11:59 PM on Friday, April 3rd.
-
Any organization, group, individual, or business doing community-oriented work in Sisters Country is eligible to apply, with the exception of entities whose primary purpose is political advocacy or practicing religion.
501(c)(3) status is NOT required. For-profit entities may apply, so long as the focus of the application is on community-oriented, charitable or educational activities, rather than revenue generation or business development.
Examples of eligible applicants include:
Nonprofits
After-school clubs
Volunteer groups
Social clubs
Mission-driven businesses
Neighborhood associations
A group of friends
And many more!
We strongly encourage applicants to review past grantees to get an idea of appropriate projects. Here are our 2025, 2024, and 2023 grantees. If you have questions about your eligibility, please email director@citizens4community.com.

We strongly encourage applicants to review past grantees to get an idea of appropriate projects. Here are our 2025, 2024, and 2023 grantees.
In general, we seek to fund projects that:
1) Take place primarily within “Sisters Country” (i.e. the Sisters School District boundary and Camp Sherman).
2) Are charitable, educational, and/or community-oriented in nature. For-profit entities can apply, but not for projects where the primary objective is revenue generation or business development.
3) Align with one or more of the focus areas of the Sisters Country Vision:
Prosperous Sisters | Boosting and sustaining the community prosperity of Sisters Country.
Livable Sisters | Making Sisters Country more livable for all and improving local amenities.
Resilient Sisters | Keeping Sisters Country safe, supporting our neighbors, and being prepared for future challenges.
Connected Sisters | Creating opportunities for community members to connect, collaborate, and support one another.
Funding can go toward any project-related expenses – including staff and contractor wages – but are expected to be spent within 12 months of grant issuance.
-
We have committed $15,000 for our 2026 Momentum Grants program, with no maximum grant amount per applicant.
This is a change from years past, where grants were capped at $1,500 per applicant. You can now ask for as much as you want, but we expect you to be able to clearly justify the amount that you’re requesting.
We anticipate issuing between 5 and 15 total grants; most grantees will likely receive less than the amount requested.
-
Applications will be reviewed by a Review Committee composed of two C4C board members and three members of the Sisters Country Vision Implementation Team (VIT).
Grant recipients will be selected based on their perceived community benefit and alignment with the core goals of the Sisters Country Vision. Additionally, we will prioritize applications that:
Are early-stage, but show potential for bigger impact
Bring new voices into community building work
Demonstrate collaboration with fellow community builders
-
Our 2026 application process will open on March 4th. Applications are due by April 3rd .
The grants Review Committee will convene in mid-April. Applicants will be notified of their award status no later than the week of April 20, and grants will be distributed immediately thereafter.
-
We aim to make the grant application and reporting process as easy as possible. However, we also want to track our impact! Here’s what you can expect:
A check-in from the C4C team around the 6-month mark to see how things are going;
A short summary and feedback form upon project completion (submitted no more than one year after receipt of funds).
We also always welcome additional updates along the way, and are here to help if you get stuck or need to pivot from your original plan.
-
We thought you’d never ask. Of course!
Grantees are highly encouraged to view C4C as an ongoing source of support. We’re always happy to provide advice, connections, and other resources that help ensure project success. This includes:
1-on-1 consultation and mentorship time with the C4C team
Access to The Hub for coworking, meeting space, and project-related events
Databases and guidance on how to promote your project and recruit volunteers
Invitations to professional development workshops led by local experts
And more!
