Join C4C for Finding and Applying for Grants – a free workshop offering practical, real-world strategies to help local organizations discover funding opportunities and write compelling grant applications. Led by The Grant Lab’s Founder and CEO Susan Taylor — a seasoned grant professional with over 20 years of experience and $62 million raised — this session will share favorite grant writing tools, tactics, and common mistakes to avoid.

The workshop will cover topics including:

  • Effective ways to search for grants and funders;

  • The power of a strong organizational description (bring yours for workshopping!) ;

  • How to use AI wisely in grant writing;

  • And much more!

There will also be plenty of time for real-time troubleshooting and audience Q&A. Whether you're a nonprofit volunteer, development director, or small business owner, you'll walk away with tangible strategies for discovering funding opportunities and writing compelling grant applications.

This event will take place at The Hub – C4C’s new community workspace in downtown Sisters. Come for light refreshments and networking from 4:30-5 PM, followed by the workshop from 5-6:30.

About Susan taylor

Susan Taylor is a small business owner, mom, and active community volunteer. She founded The Grant Lab in 2021 following 18 years of successful leadership in nonprofits, higher education advancement, and public service with a specialty in elevating grant development and fundraising strategy. As executive director of nonprofits in Roseburg and Burns, Oregon, she was known for her collaborative work style, visionary understanding of organizational strategy, and using an entrepreneurial mindset to achieve missions. Taylor holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Montana and is a Certified Fundraising Executive (CFRE). She is a Fulbright Scholar and a Senior Fellow with the American Leadership Forum of Oregon.

A Sisters, Oregon resident, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her kids, reading, rowing, traveling, and wine tasting.
