Let's Learn! The Science of Managing Transitions

  • High Camp Taphouse 523 U.S. 20 Sisters, OR, 97759 United States (map)

The times they are a-changin’…are you ready?

It’s a new year, and there’s a lot going on in the world. Change can happen quickly, but transitions happen more slowly inside of people. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, stressed, or just plain unenthused about all the changes afoot…you’re probably not alone. But fear not – we’re here to help!

Join C4C and Scott Crabtree, Co-Founder and Chief Happiness Officer at Happy Brain Science, for a FREE workshop on how to use science to more effectively manage transitions.

Appropriate for local organizational leaders and curious community members alike, this session will help you guide yourself and others through those transitions, so that you can make the most of change.

We will explore:

  • All three phases of transitions, even though most of us only are aware of two of them

  • Why optimism during crisis is essential, but risky

  • Practical tools and techniques to boost your well-being, so that you can be as innovative and productive as possible

We’re particularly excited to be hosting this workshop as a “private event” at local restaurant High Camp Taphouse! All participants will receive complimentary appetizers and non-alcoholic beverages (alcohol will be available for purchase). A caregiver reimbursement stipend, interpretation services, and ride share assistance are available upon request (learn more below).

This workshop is free, but space is limited. Register now:

Scott Crabtree, Co-Founder and Chief Happiness Officer at Happy Brain Science.

About Scott Crabtree

Scott Crabtree helps people apply science to thrive at work. After earning a degree in cognitive science from Vassar College, he went on to lead the design and development of video games and other software. He discovered the science of thriving (positive psychology and other brain sciences) in 2003 and immediately became a passionate student and teacher of that research. He resigned his senior leadership position at Intel in 2011 to found Happy Brain Science.

His Happy Brain Science clients include DreamWorks, Nike, Kaiser-Permanente, Boeing, Intel, Hewlett-Packard, Activision, Blizzard Entertainment, and NBC.

Scott continues to use his game development background to ‘gamify’ all of his keynotes and workshops. He applies the latest findings from adult learning and hears from audience members years later that they still remember and apply his immediately applicable techniques. He’s also produced the successful ‘serious card game’ Choose Happiness @ Work (now also available as an online game).

When not presenting the science of thriving at work, Scott enjoys playing music and getting into Oregon wilderness, especially with his wife and two daughters.
