Workshop: "No More Bored Meetings" (feat. Mary Orton)

  • 291 E Main Ave Sisters, OR, 97759 United States (map)

Nobody really likes meetings. But there are ways to make them better.

NOTE: This event has been rescheduled from June 2 to June 16.

Join C4C for a hands-on workshop designed specifically for organizational board members and staff who want to make their meetings more productive, engaging, and mission-driven. Whether you're leading the meeting or just hoping to survive it, you'll walk away with practical tools to plan, facilitate, and participate in meetings that actually get things done. From setting clear goals and agendas to managing time, navigating tricky interpersonal dynamics, and making space for every voice, this workshop will help transform your meetings from a dreaded obligation into a powerful tool for collaboration and progress.

The session will be led by Mary Orton, a local mediator and facilitator with decades of experience helping organizations communicate and collaborate more effectively. Mary will guide participants through the architecture of a “good” meeting – from planning, to facilitation, to follow-up – while offering real-world strategies for handling common meeting challenges like off-track conversations, power imbalances, and moments of conflict. Whether you're a board chair, executive director, or community volunteer, this workshop will leave you better equipped to make every meeting count.

This event will take place at a location TBD in downtown Sisters. Come for light refreshments and networking from 4:30-5 PM, followed by Mary’s presentation from 5-6:30.

The workshop is free, but space is limited. Register today!
