Free outdoor movie nights are returning to Sisters Country this summer!
Citizens4Community (C4C), in partnership with Kendall Auto Group of Central Oregon and additional local sponsors, is bringing back Let's Watch! – a four-night outdoor movie series designed to create free and fun opportunities for neighbors to gather in some of the community’s most iconic locations.
Let's Watch! will combine classic films with unique venues, themed activities, concessions, and opportunities to support the local community. The entire series is literally powered by Kendall Auto Group, with one of their Ford F-150 Lightning electric trucks supplying electricity for a 16-foot inflatable movie screen, speakers, and projector. Four local business sponsors have also signed on to help bring the events to life.
Each screening will begin at sundown, with doors opening one hour prior for family-friendly activities, refreshments, and time to connect with friends and neighbors.
This year's lineup includes:
Friday, August 21 – Happy Gilmore at Aspen Lakes Golf Course, with support from Arends Realty Group. Doors at 7 PM, movie at 8. Attendees can enjoy pre-film golf competitions and purchase concessions from the Aspen Lakes drink cart.
Friday, August 28 – Clueless at Sisters High School, with support from St. Charles Health System. Doors at 6:45 PM, movie at 7:45. Dress your best for the 90s costume contest, arrive early for Travis Birkenstock-inspired skating at the nearby SPRD skate park, and purchase concessions benefiting Outlaws Athletics.
Saturday, September 12 – A Bug's Life at Lazy Z Ranch, with support from Sisters Dental. Doors at 6:20 PM, movie at 7:20. Attendees can meet live insects at the Think Wild interpretive booth, purchase snacks and award-winning mead in the Lazy Z tasting room, and learn about the ranch’s commitment to supporting local pollinators.
Saturday, September 19 – Up at Sisters Eagle Airport, with support from Deschutes Public Library. Doors open at 6 PM, movie at 7. The series concludes with free balloon animals for kids, lawn games, concessions supporting Sisters Little League, and epic mountain views alongside the tarmac.
"We love finding new and creative ways for community members to connect with one another,” said Kellen Klein, Executive Director of Citizens4Community. "But sometimes, we accidentally stumble onto a new tradition. Let’s Watch! was so fun last year, we felt we had no choice but to team up with Kendall Auto Group again for four more nights under the stars. We’re thrilled to be returning to Sisters Eagle Airport, while also expanding to some new local venues. It’s not every day you get to catch a flick on a driving range!”
