Community Builders Meeting: Camp Polk Meadow Preserve + Pioneer Cemetery

  • Camp Polk Meadow Preserve Cemetery Road Sisters, OR, 97759 United States (map)

Are you building community in Sisters Country? Come join us!

Join local volunteers and organizational leaders for C4C’s monthly “Community Builders” meeting. These gatherings are designed to help you:

  • Connect with fellow change makers in Sisters;

  • Share current individual or organizational priorities, needs, and opportunities;

  • Discuss timely local topics and community challenges; and

  • Explore opportunities for collaboration and problem solving.

This October, we’ll travel outside city limits to some of Sisters Country’s most notable historic sites. First, we’ll meet at Deschutes Land Trust’s Camp Polk Meadow Preserve – a place that has been a crossroads for people for thousands of years. Then we’ll walk a few steps down the road to hear from the Camp Polk Pioneer Cemetery Preservation Committee, and view the final resting place for some of Sisters’ first European settlers. At each location, we’ll learn about the organizations and volunteers working to protect and steward these cultural resources.

NOTE: Parking is extremely limited at these sites. Please consider carpooling. Need a hand getting there? Email us and we can help coordinate!

Due to their dynamic nature, our Community Builders meetings are in-person only and not live-streamed online. Meeting notes are published to our blog shortly after each gathering.
