On Sunday, November 10th, 2024, Citizens4Community (C4C) and The Nugget hosted our latest bi-annual Community Forum at Sisters Elementary School – Are the Kids Alright? Youth Wellbeing in Sisters Country. Nearly 100 people joined in-person and online to learn about and discuss the lived experiences, strengths, challenges, and needs of local youth, with a focus on ways that the broader community can support our youngest residents.
Sincere thanks to the community for their thoughtful engagement, and to the planning team, panelists, and our main sponsor St. Charles Health System for their help organizing this important community discussion.
A recording of the Community Forum is now available on C4C’s YouTube channel, and The Nugget has published a summary article.
We’ve also produced a “supplemental packet” to help guide further action and learning. The packet includes:
Facts and figures about youth wellbeing at the local, regional, state, and national level
A list of local youth-oriented services, organizations, and resources
Ways you can get engaged and take action around this issue
Recommended reading, research and reports related to youth wellbeing
You can also access this Resource packet by visiting BIT.Ly/C4Ckids.
We welcome feedback on ways we and other organizations can help Sisters Country continue to discuss and address local youth wellbeing. Email us with your ideas at hello@citizens4community.com.
