On April 13 and May 18, 2025, C4C hosted a series of free public Community Forums focused on wildfire preparedness and related insurance challenges in Sisters Country.
Wildfire in Sisters Country, Part 1: Are We Ready? and Wildfire in Sisters Country, Part 2: Are We Covered? were produced in partnership with The Nugget newspaper, Rotary Club of Sisters, and Sisters Kiwanis. A key emphasis was on the many ways our community can act NOW – collectively and individually – to be better prepared for growing risks from wildfire and insurance risks.
Ready to take action? Here are some ideas and resources from our Forum.

Join us and Sisters Festival of Books on May 28 for a discussion of the book “Let’s Read: Fire in Paradise.” Set around one of the most destructive American wildfires in a century, the book is a gripping account of the tragedy that befell a community with many parallels to our own. This event is an opportunity to examine these similarities, reflect on our own community’s preparedness for wildfire, and discuss what else Sisters Country might do to avoid becoming the “next” Paradise.
