Join Citizens4Community on April 20 as our next, free quarterly event focuses on: "What does Civility mean to you, to Sisters Country, and to the vitality of our community?"
The informative event will begin at 5:15 p.m. at the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire Station Community Hall, 301 S. Elm St., in Sisters.
This Spring Quarter session dovetails with a discussion begun in January during C4C's Winter Quarter event. Many participants said they wanted to hear more strategies for keeping meetings, public events or other gatherings from devolving into unproductive territory when disruptive behavior, disagreements or other challenges arise.
During this next event you'll have a chance to brush up your civility skills and gain ideas on how to navigate tough conversations. The session will be assisted by volunteer leaders from our community—a panel of successful, local government, business and nonprofit leaders who have found ways to move conversations forward when discussions become difficult.
The April 20 event will kick off with the popular community-building and networking dinner: "Soup & Civility." Then, after the meal, we'll begin a community conversation about how we can best treat and speak to each other and share our concerns respectfully without harming one another. Event participants will be offered opportunities to share their specific communication breakdown experiences and solutions in a positive, small group setting.
This promises to be a thought provoking evening. All are invited, and every voice matters; so we hope to see you there.
C4C is asking prospective attendees to please RSVP by April 17 so that ample food can be provided. RSVP at citizens4community@gmail.com or 541-549-1482 or by filling out the form below.
