Join us on Thursday, Oct. 24 for a lively and informative panel presentation and group discussion about the significance of freedom of speech in a democratic society. This Sisters Country Community Conversation is presented by Citizens4Community and The Nugget Newspaper. Special thanks to our sponsors: The Lodge in Sisters, Paulina Springs Books, The Ford Family Foundation and St. Charles Health System for supporting this all-community event. According to census figures, about 40 percent of Sisters households have people in them who are age 60 or older. So, it's not surprising that when local octogenarian Joan Power expressed her concern recently about the lack of coordinated services for seniors in Sisters, her words resonated. Power suggested a meeting to identify existing and needed resources for older residents. From that initial work the Senior Alliance of Sisters has emerged.

Join Citizens4Community on April 20 as our next, free quarterly event focuses on: "What does Civility mean to you, to Sisters Country, and to the vitality of our community?"
The informative event will begin at 5:15 p.m. at the Sisters-Camp Sherman Fire Station Community Hall, 301 S. Elm St., in Sisters.
This Spring Quarter session dovetails with a discussion begun in January during C4C's Winter Quarter event. Many participants said they wanted to hear more strategies for keeping meetings, public events or other gatherings from devolving into unproductive territory when disruptive behavior, disagreements or other challenges arise.
