Let’s Talk Considers: “How can we maintain community authenticity while embracing change?"

[Note: This topic was originally scheduled for a Let’s Talk earlier this year and has been shifted to later in the year. We’re hosting a virtual “Let’s Talk”/”Let’s Connect” meeting on our regular Let’s Talk day on April 20.]

Citizens4Community invites all area residents to Let's Talk, Sisters!—a facilitated discussion series where attendees learn about local topics of interest and exchange viewpoints in a lively but respectful setting. Talks run 5:45 to 8 p.m. every 3rd Monday at Paulina Springs Books.

On Monday, May 18 we’ll discuss the question:
“How can we maintain community authenticity while embracing change?”

Like February’s Let’s Talk, viewpoints offered during this talk will help guide efforts toward implementing the Sisters Country Vision Action Plan—specifically, aspects of Connected Sisters Strategies 1 and 4. These community-building strategies were prioritized by local residents to help cultivate a more connected and inclusive Sisters Country for all—longtime residents as well as newcomers.

These strategies are:

Strategy 1: “Promote the small-town atmosphere and friendly vibe of Sisters Country as the city and region grow, increasing outreach and opportunities for face-to-face contacts, neighbor-to-neighbor cooperation, and visitors-to-locals connections and commerce.”

Strategy 4: “Bring Sisters Country's less frequently heard voices into a more diverse, welcoming and inclusive community conversation, fostering greater tolerance in the community helping newcomers as well as long-time residents to feel valued and supported.”

We encourage longtime residents and newcomers to come out and share your thoughts.

Let’s Talk is free, but seats are limited and RSVPs are necessary.
